This is the "VR24" motor that powers the Lectra. The motor controller is located just in front of the motor, slightly visible through the vents on the side.

Here's the backside of the motor. A standard motorcycle chain attaches to a sprocket ont he output shaft for direct drive to the rear wheel. There's interal 5:1 gear reduction in the motor unit.

Here's a slightly better view of the controller. It's the big metal thing with "24" stamped on the left corner with cooling fins below.
